Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #223 Fun with Puns

Hey everybody!

I hope you all are having a great week so far! Happy Tuesday :) This week for me is extra busy, with exams in nearly every class. Lots of studying around my house :)  With all this work, the Challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas had perfect timing! I have a simple sense of humor, and puns are my favorite!

For my card I made it a little nautical with images from the Cricut Library. I'm not sure of the cartridge, but I know it is one that I already own. I used DCWV cardstock and enamel dots from the Paper Studio. My 6 year old has already stolen it to put in his treasure box because he said it's a boy card and I never make boy cards. These kids crack me up!

I hope you all love puns as much as I do and decide to join us at the Die Cuttin' Divas! Don't forget the die cuts! Have a wonderful weekend! See you all next week! Thanks for reading!!

Die Cuttin' Divas Cahllenge #232 3-D Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!!

I hope you are all doing well! I am going to jump right in to this week's challenge at the Die Cuttin Divas, mostly because I am so excited about it! The challenge is a 3-D challenge! I love all of the 3-D projects made by my fellow DT Divas!

As most of you know, my baby sister just went away to college. We are still decorating her room. When I saw the grey and white patterned canvases at Michael's over the summer, I knew they had to be in her room. She and I discussed it and decided giant flowers in the middle would look the best, and to my dismay, none of the silk flowers were the right color. Then, LIGHTBULB! I have a die cutting machine!! The idea was born, and with this challenge it came to life. I am so excited about how well it turned out, and even more excited for all of the other colors we will do!

The paper is from The Paper Studio, I needed a paper that was a little soft so I could manipulate the edges. For shimmer I used a Wink of Stella pen.

I haven't shown her yet, I hope she will think it looks as great as I do! I'm so excited to see all of your 3-D Projects at the Die Cuttin' Divas this week! Thanks for reading! See you next week!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #231 Sketch Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

I apologize for my late post. I was having some major technical issues. This has been a week of disasters around here. I have to stay positive because I know it will all turn around from here. This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a sketch challenge. These challenges always end up being my favorite, with everyone adding their own little spin on it there are so many different variations.

My patterned papers are from Pebbles Garden Party and the solids are all from Colobok. The enamel dots are all from The Paper Studio and the die cut is from the Cricut store. I believe its originally from the Paperlace cartridge. I even used my explore to cut out the circles. This sketch was truly a blast to work with and I hope you all will try it too!

Thank you all so much for reading. I hope to see your sketch challenge cards over at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget your die cut! I hope all of my bad luck means extra good luck for all of you!! See you next week!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #230 Inspired by a Decade

Hello Wonderful Crafty Friends!

I hope you are all well! I'm super excited, as this is my Birthday week! I turn 30 on Thursday!  I also must report I survived the first week back to only math classes! Time management has never been my greatest feature, but man I am on it now! It's crazy how I have multiplied my responsibilities by at least 3, and yet I am more productive. It's sad how bad it was before. I had a few snares along the way this week, but all in all it was a success. We did lose power Sunday for about 9 hours. That's no fun when your cutter needs internet and electricity and all your homework must be turned in online. I'm still perky though.

My card for this week's challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas is really a reflection of my mood lately. The challenge is a decade challenge, where you make a project based on a particular decade. Let me tell you, I am never anything less than amazed by the creativity of my fellow design team divas! They have some really fantastic decade cards. I decided to do mine on the 80's! The decade I was born in. I was really inspired by the clothes my mom used to dress me in. I love the crazy patterns and the vivid colors! The sunglasses also scream 1980's to me.

The solid colored paper is from Colorbok and the pattern is from The Paper Studio. I felt the patterned paper really made the card feel true to the 80's. I also downloaded a font that I thought looked like it fit well. The sunglasses are from the Cricut store.

This card makes me happy and excited, which is what I think of when I think of the 80's. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I am really excited to see all of your decade inspired projects over at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cut :) I wish you all a wonderful week , and thank you so much for reading!!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #229 Celebrate It! Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope all is well with you guys! This week my kids are back to school and so am I! Full time student again. I am so grateful for my crafting at this time. I am in nearly all mathematics classes, so I need the right side of my brain exercised! I have a new computer with Windows 10 so I am on a learning curve. I had such a fun time making this card for the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week. My 18 year old sister started classes on Monday, so this is for her. I'm excited for her college experience.

The image on here is from the Cricut library, and the solid papers are all Colorbok. The patterned paper is from Doodlebug. I really love that company! The gems are from the dollar section at Michaels, and they are actually clear but a Sharpie changed that.

I took this picture in between classes in the hallway. I'm thinking all these college kids thought I was nuts. haha I hope to see you all at the Die Cuttin' Divas this week! Don't forget your die cuts! Thanks for reading you all! I appreciate all of you!

Die Cuttin' Divas #228 Nautical Challenge

Hello wonderful crafty friends!!

I have missed you all! I hope all is well with you guys. So much has happened since I last saw you all. I had my surgery (have already lost 30 lbs) and moved across state to our first home. I have my very own craftroom, but it's still boxes. I have no furniture yet. Have any of you tried the Martha Stewart furniture available through Home Depot? I'm thinking it's my best option. This house is nearly double the size of the last one, so I'm decorating a room at a time. Craftroom should totally be first!

Well now to the important part. The wonderful nautical challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas. I love nautical themed things!! The colors and clean lines... I swoon! My card is fairly simple I used some nesting circle dies and some papers from DCWV. I didn't realize how much I missed crafting til I was doing it. Even if it was sitting in the floor with boxes all around me :)

I really hope you guys enjoyed this! I can't wait to get back into full swing. I start school full time next Monday so I'm extra excited for my crafty stress relief! I hope to see all your projects at the Die Cuttin Divas! Thanks for reading you all! Let me know what you think!

Die Cuttin' Divas #221 Wedding or Anniversary Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are well! Today is the day before my surgery and I will be out for a couple of weeks. When I get back I will be in my new house in my very own craftroom! I'm so excited for it. I'm thinking my crafting will be much more inspired when I don't have to move my stuff out of the way constantly. Sunday was my grandparents' 57th Anniversary which goes perfectly with the challenge this week at the Die Cuttin' Divas. It's a wedding/Anniversary Challenge.

I love bright colors on cards, and I found these great silhouettes on Svg Cuts. The patterned paper is a Heidi Swapp paper and the others are TPS. I also embossed the dress and added some creamy shimmer chalk. I think the scale is a little off, but I was having a horrible time on Cricut Design Space.

I really like the way this turned out. I hope you all did too! Don't forget to submit your wedding or anniversary projects to the Die Cuttin' Divas. See you all in a couple of weeks :) Thanks for reading!

Die Cuttin' Divas #220 Masuline Theme Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Tuesday! I hope your summer is off to a good start! Here in Oklahoma I am a week away from surgery and about 10 days from the big move. I'm going to miss this town, but I am so ready for the new house and my very own craft room!

This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a masculine themed challenge. Perfect timing! Father's Day is around the corner, so I knew immediately what I wanted to make. My die cuts are rom the Cricut store and they're actually two completely different parts. The card base originally had some generic stick like people on them, but I contoured the image to remove it. I then just cut out the fisherman image and used some foam dots to raise the image. I also used paper and brads from The Paper Studio.

I am in search of a new nice thick cardstock for my cards, do you all have any recommendations? I really like a variety in color and something that cuts well. I'd appreciate an advice.

I'm excited to see all the masculine cards from you all, Father's Day and otherwise. Just head on over to the Die Cuttin' Divas to link up our projects. Don't forget the die cut :) Thanks for reading you all! See you next week!!

Die Cuttin' Divas #219 Ocean Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you all are well. I am so sorry I haven't been writing as much in my posts lately. With the kids being home, my upcoming surgery and preparations(just a couple more weeks), buying a house and packing and cleaning to move into said house(also a couple more weeks), I am burning my candle at both ends. Just a little more of the

short and sweet posts and I will be back, I promise! (hopefully with a new blog design too)

This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having an ocean challenge. I was walking through Hobby Lobby the other day, (very dangerous for me to walk through there kidless) and I saw this really adorable canvas of just an octopus silhouette. I knew I wanted to make a card like that, but you know... I have to use some bright paper! I think Hobby Lobby did it better, but it's still pretty cute. I used an Octopus die cut from Miss Kate Cuttables. I embossed the backing paper. I'm really trying to use my giant collection of embossing folders. The paper is from the Simple Stories "I Heart Summer" collection. I miss that collection a lot! The banner and stamp are from a die/stamp combo from Doodlebug and Sizzix. I was hoping to add something about an 8th birthday, but I thought that may be trying too hard. haha.

I really like the color combination. What do you all think? Do you have any craft supplies you never use, but are trying to now? Or a favorite paper pack they don't make anymore? Probably too many questions at once. :) There is no question that you all should join this challenge with us at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cut! I hope to see you all there! Thanks for reading you all!!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #218 Sketch Challenge

Hello Friends!

I hope you are having a great Tuesday! I am having a really exciting week. I found out that we will be buying a house and I will be having my surgery all in the same week. It will be a super busy time around here/there considering we are moving about 200 miles away. I will have my own craft room which makes me squeal with delight! I get to decorate a craft room! My Pinterest boards are already filling up. This is dangerous for a girl who likes to shop. I already have too much crafting items. I cleaned all of my paper crafting supplies and items up, and it took me about 5 days to finish. Though now I am feeling super inspired and have fallen in love with supplies I had forgotten I had.

My card for this weeks Die Cuttin' Divas sketch challenge was made with a Doodlebug Day to Day paper pad that I had forgotten about. I really love all of their products! The enamel dots are from Doodlebug too.  My die cut is a title from Miss Kate Cuttables. I really like using large titles as my main image. They take time to put together, but I love the finished result.  The sun is an altered die cut from the Cricut image collection, it originally had a face. Do you all ever have an image in your mind of what you want exactly, but then find that it actually doesn't exist yet? I have this happen far too often ha!
I still can't get over how much fun this was. I had forgotten what it was like to know where all of my supplies are and work in a clean space. It reignited that spark and now I can't wait to craft more. I am really sad that I'll have to spend so much time packing instead of crafting.

I hope to see you all at the Die Cuttin' Divas this week! Sketch challenges really make you be creative and I love that! Don't forget the die cuts :) Thanks for reading you all! See you next week!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #217 Baby Love

Hey Crafty Friends!

I hope you all are having a great holiday week! I love these shortened weeks. This week we are having a baby challenge over at the Die Cuttin' Divas. I have lots of friends and family who are having babies this summer so it's perfect for me.

This was a simple card using The Paper Studio papers and images from my Cricut. I love little boy cards and my cousin just had a little boy about two weeks ago. I think this will be making its way to her! We are still gearing up for our move and the kids are out of school so it's extra busy here. Do you all have big summer plans?

I hope you all enjoyed this simple card. I hope to see your baby cards with us at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cut! Thanks for reading you all!

Die Cuttin' Divas #216 Water a Flower Day Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!!

I hope you all are having a fantastic Tuesday! This week is the last week of school for my kids and we will be moving in a couple of weeks, plus I will also be having surgery fairly soon. I will keep this post simple and sweet like my card for this week :) Over at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a challenge where you must include a flower on the project.

I used an image from the Cricut store and some beautiful floral paper. I used some Smooch Spritz spray to give some shimmer to the project. The flower is a Prima flower.

I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. I hope to see you all over at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Die-versions is our sponsor this week and I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Thanks for reading :)

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #215 Sports Theme

Hello wonderful crafty friends! I hope you are having a happy Tuesday. I have had such an eventful week. Tornado season is in full swing in Oklahoma. It has made all of our plans change this week. I hope it has been safe where you all are. This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a sports themed challenge in honor of National Golf Month. I love golf so I wanted to make a golf card.

I used cuts from the Cricut store and papers from the Paper Studio. I cut it all on my Explore. The textured paper is from DCWV. I had a lot of fun putting this together. I haven't decided if it will be a Father's Day card yet or not. I left it ambiguous to keep my options open. :)

I had a lot of fun making this card. I thing the simplicity is fun. I hope to see all of your sports themed projects at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cuts, Have a great week. Stay dry :) Thanks for reading!

Die Cuttin' Divas #214 Sketch Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you're having a great Tuesday! This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a sketch challenge and the Scrappy Mom's Stamps.  I got to use my new WRMK flower punch board. It is such fun little tool. I am really happy with how easy to use and how cute it turned out. I used papers from The Paper Studio and the gems are also from TPS. I think it came together nicely.

I love this sketch and I can't wait to see all the interpretations of it. Don't forget the die cut :) I hope you all have a good week and look forward to seeing all of your projects at the Die Cuttin' Divas.

Die Cuttin' Divas #213 Kids Theme

Hi Crafty Friends!

I hope you are all having a great Tuesday! I'm really happy to share with you all my project for the new kid themed challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas. It is so much fun to make a card with kids in mind. I do have to admit that most of my cards seem a little childish and I send them to adults as well as kids :) I really love cheerful happy fun cards and this one is no exception. Since the bookmark I made last week was for my daughter I made this card with my son in mind. I call him my "monster boy", so a monster card seemed quite fitting.

This card makes me laugh out loud. All of the cuts were made with my Cricut Explore. The monster is from the Bump in the Night cartridge and the starburst and circles are from various shapes cartridges. Both patterned papers are from Doodlebug and the solids are from The Paper Studio. I also put the little monster guy on an action wobble, and printed the sentiment from my computer.

So what do you all think? Pretty cute right? I can't wait to see all of your kid themed projects at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget your die cuts! I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for reading!!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #212 National Garden Month

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Tuesday :) I hope your week has started off well. I've had a bit of a rocky start, but I am back in the swing now. This time of the year is so busy. I know I've said it before, but things seem to be moving much faster in the spring. Storm season has begun here in Oklahoma and thus tornado season too. That means less sleep on stormy nights ha :) It is so amazing to see all of the things in bloom though. I don't think I've ever been so excited by all of the plants before. I am appreciating them like I never have. That makes this week's challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas extra fun. It's a garden theme.

My project kind of fell in my lap. My 9 year old daughter has been complaining that I haven't made her anything in a while, so I was looking for a project to make her. I decided on a bookmark since reading is one of her favorite hobbies. In the Cricut library they had this awesome The Secret Garden bookmark. It's the first book on her summer reading list, so I thought this was perfect! That little overachiever is already reading it and I didn't know haha, but she will have a bookmark for the back half of the book :)

I purchased the cut from Cricut and all the papers are from The Paper Studio. I used Wink of Stella to add shimmer to the blue layer. It was a very simple project, but I love it so much!

She loves it and it looks great in her book. I hope to see you all at the Die Cuttin' Divas this week! Don't forget the die cut :) Thanks for reading you guys! Have a great week.

Zoo Awareness Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #211

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Tuesday to you all! Today starts a super fun challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas. This weeks challenge theme is "Zoo Awareness Day", where you make a project with a zoo animal! I love this! I purchased my die cut from Miss Kate Cuttables. I love elephants. There are many birthdays here this month. This card is for a sweet little girl's first birthday.
This was such a fun image to work with. The papers are all from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss. I cut both the image and the sentiment on my Cricut Explore. I'm always amazed by how well it cuts. The Happy Day was from the Cricut store.

I hope you all enjoy this sweet card as much as I do. I hope to see you all at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cut! Thanks for reading. :)

Die Cuttin Divas #209 Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you all are having a great week so far. It's beautiful weather in Oklahoma, and soccer has started. I love this time of year, but its extra busy. I am grateful for my crafting time that I get during the week. I had such a good time making my card for this week's challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas. It's an Anything Goes challenge. I love those!

There are lots and lots of birthdays around here this time of year, so I am stocking up on birthday cards. This one was made with Doodlebug paper, Colorbok cardstock, a Fiskars edge punch, and Elizabeth Crafts dies.

I thought this was a fun design and with a slight color variation could be unisex. I will be making more of these for sure. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. I can't wait to see your creations over at the Die Cuttin' Divas. Don't forget the die cut! Thanks for reading :)

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #208 Music Challenge

Hello wonderful crafty friends!

I hope you all are well. I took a couple weeks off for vacation, though let me tell you it was exhausting! I am so glad to be back home and crafting again. Let's jump right back in with the new challenge at the Die Cuttin' Divas

This week's challenge is a music challenge. I had so much fun with this. Cricut Design Space had a few hiccups, but the cuts were done well and I am excited with the result. I found this svg. on DigiPlayGround. I used my computer for the sentiment. I really seem to print out my words more than I stamp them these days. I should really challenge myself to use what I have.

I hope that you all find this card as cheerful as I do. I would love to see all of your music themed projects at the Die Cuttin' Divas, don't forget your die cut :) Thanks for reading you all!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #205 Sketch Challenge

Hey Crafty Friends! Happy Tuesday!

How has your week started out? Mine is a little rocky with illnesses all around, but I get to go on a vacation next week! I will be in Las Vegas for a few days! I am quite excited. I have never been, so there are many sites and shows I want to see. I wonder if there is an awesome craft store I need to see there. Do you all know of any? I will google for sure :) I already shop too much. Last week I bought some WRMK punch boards, and thats actually what I used on my card for this week's Die Cuttin' Divas sketch challenge. I used the pinwheel punch and I'm excited to use it in more projects.

I had originally offset the pinwheel, as you can see in the above image, but then I decided to center it, I like balance, and I think this has a better balance. The papers are all from a Doodlebug paper pack, and the brads are all from The Paper Studio. I used Glossy Accents on the handle to make it look like plastic.

I used a 1.5 inch circle punch and a 2 inch scallop circle punch for the sentiment. and the stamp is from Studio Calico.

Overall I had fun using new tools for a simple card for a adorable simple sketch. You guys should definitely head on over to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog to see the sketch and to link your cards(don't forget the die cut)! Our Sponsor this week is Cardz TV with a stamp set as the prize! I have to tell you all, Mary over there is my go to lady when I need inspiration. Her Youtube is what really got me into card making, and she's always so cheerful. Thanks for reading you all! Have a great week :)

Love to Scrap! Challenge blog #49 Buttons and Bows

Hi Crafty Friends! Happy Monday!

I hope all of you are doing well. We finally got lots and lots of snow! I was so excited. What do you all do on your snowy days? My kids always want hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls for breakfast when it's cold out. I really love to see the excitement on their faces. It only snows here a couple times a year, so it's always like an additional Christmas morning. I don't even mind the wet floors from where they trampled through the house with their snow covered clothes.

I think snowy days make for perfect crafting weather, and I made a fun new card this weekend for LTSCB :) It's not my traditional style, but I really love it! Our challenge is to use both buttons and bows, and we have some awesome sponsors with awesome prizes : A Day For Daisies, with $12 gift certificate  (equal to 3 images of choice). Bugaboo Digi Stamps with 7 images to the winner.
Limited Runs Stamps with 3 images to the winner.

My image is from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and this sweet girl is the Chibi Flower Pot Peeker. Isn't she adorable? I used my Spectrum Noirs to color her. The message on the flower pot was an addition from a Simon Says Stamps stamp set, I thought it was a nice message for the image. The circles were all cut out with a Sizzix Nestabilities circle die set and all of the papers were from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss. I really love that paper collection. I made this entire card around those papers and the flower girl image.

I had a lot of fun making this card, and I am really pleased with the finished product. I hope you all enjoy it as well. Let me know what you think in the comments section below. I really hope to see your buttons and bows creations at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog :) This challenge will be running through the 15th. Thanks for reading!!

Die Cuttin' Divas #204 Seuss Inspired Challenge

Hello there wonderful crafty friends!

I hope this Tuesday finds you well :) It's nice and snowy here in Oklahoma. We even had a snow day yesterday! How often do you get a snow day on a Monday? It was awesome! My super creative daughter spent all day working on an art project for an upcoming art fair at her school. That girl has some serious crafting skills. I was lazy and just cleaned a little haha.

This week at the Die Cuttin' Divas we are having a Dr. Seuss inspired challenge. I had a rough start on this one(I've never really read much Dr. Seuss), but it quickly turned into my favorite challenge yet. I really like when a challenge takes me out of my comfort zone... well after the fact haha. There was much frustration in the beginning. I believe there is a quote something like, "bigger the challenge greater the reward". It's cliche, and true :)  So our awesome sponsor for this challenge is Dies R US, with an awesome $10 gift card as the prize.

For my card I used some Bazzil cardstock and some from Colorbok. The cat is from Kadoodle Bug Designs, and you can find him here

For the quote I downloaded the Grinched font and typed it out myself. I also used some chalks for edging and a sharpie for the faux stitch marks.

I hope you all enjoyed my card. If you have any comments or questions leave them below or shoot me an e-mail :) I really hope to see all of your projects this week, don't forget the die cuts! Thanks for reading :)
