How have you all been this past week? I know many of you have gotten a lot of snow. I hope you are staying warm. It's been so back and forth with the temperatures here. Everyone with allergies is having difficulties. I would really just like a snow day or two, and I think my kids would as well. *Fingers Crossed* I know I have mentioned it already, but I am so very excited for Valentine's Day. I'm actually sad that it's already here. I didn't want it to be over so soon. I have cards to mail out and a package to send across an ocean. I really love buying gifts for those who are special to me. This is the only day a year that I feel comfortable buying a man a present that is traditionally girly. (you know like a stuffed gorilla that says "I'm bananas for you") This takes so much of the pressure away and allows more freedom in shopping. Confession time: I love any excuse to shop! haha.
Let's get back to the reason we are here today, A Crafty Challenge with the Die Cuttin' Divas. This weeks theme is a picture challenge. You should go check it out and see all the beautiful little "Love Day" images to use as inspiration. Please don't forget your die cuts :) For my card I used an svg from Miss KateCuttables. I really love the images here, and I purchased quite a few on sale this week. I used the Layered Valentine Overlay on this project. I really had a great time picking the papers and the details for this card. I used some Recollections patterned and solid papers and some The Paper Studio glitter paper. The bow is from a Cricut file called 3-D Bows.
My Cricut Explore didn't cut as well as I had hoped, but I think I need a new blade. Have any of you all tried the new blades? I'm wondering if they are really that much better. This is my first card in a long time that doesn't have a sentiment. I think it kind of speaks for itself.
I'm really not much of a glitter fan, but I have begun to appreciate the qualities of a little shimmer in a project. I think you will be seeing more and more :)
Well I hope you all enjoyed this week's project. I had a good time creating it. Let me know what you think in the comments section below. :) I would love to see Valentine themed projects from you all at the Die Cuttin' Divas' Challenge this week. Don't forget the die cut and to check out the inspiration picture. Thanks for reading! Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
